Meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month. If school is cancelled due to bad weather on that day, there will be no meeting.
The schedule of programs for 2013 is as follows:
JANUARY 3—Robert Loomis will do a presentation on “The Loomis Gang” from Nine Mile Swamp. Robert is a Great Grandson of Amos Plumb Loomis, one of the brothers.
FEBRUARY 7—Kelly Falk from the Waterville Historical Society will do a presentation on George Eastman who was born in Waterville in 1854.
MARCH 7—Helen Alberding will do a presentation on the history of the Limestone Ridge Historical Society in Oriskany Falls.
APRIL 4—Covered dish begins at 12:30 p.m. May play BINGO after the meeting.
MAY 2—Dee Schaefer from Wander’s Rest Humane Society in Canastota will talk about the shelter, types of animals, how to adopt & their foster family program for pets. Dee will bring two pets she adopted at the shelter (one is a dog in a wheelchair).
JUNE 6—Steve Adamkowski from Freedom Farms in Vernon grows annuals, perennials, etc. Presentation on caring for container gardens & plants for the garden.
JULY 11—A representative from the Corporate Communications Team from Chaboni Yogurt will do a power point presentation on the history, process & growth of the company. Samples of yogurt will be provided.
AUGUST 1—Picnic & White Elephant Sale at Madison Lake begins at 12:30 p.m.
SEPTEMBER 5—Mark Piersall from Heritage Farms will give an overview of their history & services offered. A couple of consumers who receive services will join Mark in the presentation.
OCTOBER 3—Beth Wilbur from Twin Orchards will talk about varieties of apples featured in pamphlets available for everyone. Also, provide cider, samples of donuts & apples available in the store.
NOVEMBER 7—Covered dish begins at 12:30 p.m. May play BINGO after the meeting.
DECEMBER 5—Christmas luncheon at the White Eagle Conference Center in Hamilton. Arrive at 12 noon and buffet lunch at 12:30 p.m. Menu: Tossed Garden Salad, Carved Baked Ham, Beef Stroganoff w/egg noodles, Oven Roasted Potatoes, Fresh Vegetable Medley, Coffee, Tea, Iced Tea, Lemonade, Soda and Chocolate Walnut Pie.
